Loft insulation:- One of the most cost-effective measures. A well-insulated loft prevents heat from escaping through the roof.
Typical solutions: rolled mineral wool, loose-fill insulation, or insulated loft boards.
Cavity wall insulation:- Many UK homes have cavity walls that can be filled with insulating materials to cut heat loss through walls.
Ideal for brick-built homes with existing cavity spaces.
Solid wall insulation:- For older homes without cavity walls, internal or external solid wall insulation can dramatically reduce heat loss.
Internal insulation is applied to the inside surface; external insulation hides a thermal layer under new render or cladding.
Floor insulation:- Ground-floor insulation (rigid boards or underfloor insulation) reduces cold floors and heat loss into the ground.
Especially useful in older houses with suspended timber floors or uninsulated solid floors.
