Free Loft Insulation Grants For Pensioners

Providing you own the property or rent it from a private landlord, we can put you in contact with a local insulation installer.

If your loft has less than 4 inches (100mm) of insulation, it might need more. Typically, if the insulation is below the level of the joists, it’s likely less than 4 inches. The government recommends having around 11 inches (270mm) of insulation for better energy efficiency. You can find more information on our Loft Insulation page.

If your home was built with bricks between 1924 and 1982, it probably has cavity walls. Check out our Cavity Wall Insulation page for more details.

Before 1924, brick houses typically had solid walls, so they might need Internal Wall Insulation or External Wall Insulation instead. These types of insulation are also suitable for solid stone or concrete properties.

Grants can also be claimed for properties that have roof rooms with little or no insulation. Please see our Room in Roof Insulation page for more information.
